Annual Milton Event a Great Way to Support Local Community

On Sunday, August 21st, Milton will host the annual Arts and Crafts Fair and the Air Products Chicken BBQ on the grounds of the historic Milton House Museum and neighboring North Goodrich Park. The Milton Historical Society and Milton Area Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism (MACCIT) co-host this event.

Starting at 11 a.m., the Air Products Chicken BBQ begins in North Goodrich Park. Visitors can stop by and enjoy a chicken meal, hot dogs or brats. The Milton Community Fund is hosting a Concert in the Park during the festivities. Joe Roberts & the Country Classics will perform from 11am-1pm that day. A variety of other booths and activities will take place in the park during the day. The rain date for the Chicken BBQ and Concert in the Park is the following Sunday, August 28th in North Goodrich Park.

Once again, the Milton Historical Society Arts and Crafts fair will be juried, in which vendors are required to provide photographs of raw materials and themselves working their product, as well as examples of their work. This is done to ensure vendors are selling a product which they have created. Artists and crafters will be on hand selling their unique creations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the grounds surrounding the Milton House. Tours of this historic site will also be given at reduced rates. The Arts & Craft Fair is being held rain or shine.

Also, returning this year is the MACCIT Raffle drawing. The MACCIT Raffle offers 3 chances to win, with a $2,500 cash grand prize. The winner will be announced at 2:00pm. All proceeds go to MACCIT and assist with Milton Tourism & Economic Development. “When purchasing a MACCIT raffle ticket you are making an investment in your own local community. All proceeds from the raffle benefit Milton through economic development and tourism efforts.” says Terry Williamson, MACCIT’s Tourism and Events Committee Chair.

Tickets are $10 each or 3 for $20 and can be purchased the day of the Chicken BBQ or prior to at the following locations: Bank of Milton, Buckhorn Supper Club, Dave’s Ace Hardware, First Community Bank, Goodrich Hall Antiques, Hagen CPA, Junction Pub, M&I Bank, MACCIT Office, Milton House Museum, Patty’s Plants, Piggly Wiggly, Red Rooster, The Red Zone Pub, Small Wonders Learning Center & Varsity Lanes.
