Winter Weather Advisory and Road Condition Update from the Rock County Sheriff's Office


Here is a press release from the Rock County Sheriff's Office:

Rock County is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 6:00 p.m. this evening. According to the National Weather Service, Rock County will experience blowing snow due to northwest winds anticipated to reach as high as 30 mph, with heaviest snow amounts occurring between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Total snow accumulations are anticipated to reach anywhere from 3 to 6 inches.

At approximately 8:00 a.m., deputies began responding to vehicle accidents and run- offs due to poor visibility and slippery conditions. As of 9:20 a.m., deputies had either responded to or were in the process of responding to 4 accidents and 6 run-offs. Motorists are encouraged to limit travel and drive with extreme caution, as worsening weather conditions will impede travel.
