UPDATE: Press Release - Incident at United Ethanol

Below is a press release that was just issued from Milton Police Lieutenant John Conger.



On today’s date at approximately 10:20 am our agency was dispatched to United Ethanol located at 1250 Chicago Street for an industrial accident. Officers were informed that a male employee had gone missing and that it was believed that he may be trapped in a large grain silo.

At this point many area fire departments and law enforcement agencies are working on rescuing the individual. It is unclear how long this rescue operation will last.

A press conference has been tentatively scheduled for 4:00 pm at the Milton Fire Department. Officials from the Milton Police Department and the Milton Fire Department will be present to give a statement.

UPDATE FROM THE MILTON POLICE DEPARTMENT:  The 4:00 pm press conference in regards to the United Ethanol incident has been postponed indefinitely.  Rescuers on the scene cannot now predict how much longer the operation will take.

Therefore, more information will be released when it becomes available, and the press conference is cancelled.
