Press Release - Ethanol Tanker Truck and Trailer Overturned in Milton
Below is a press release from Milton Police Lieutenant John Conger.
On today’s date, November 27, 2012, at approximately 9:45am a tanker truck and trailer filled with ethanol overturned in the city of Milton on State Highway 59, approximately one mile East of State Highway 26. The semi-truck was Eastbound on 59, and overturned while negotiating a roundabout. The rollover has caused ethanol to be leaked from the tanker. This incident was not the result of a traffic accident.
As a result of the incident, Highway 59, East of Milton, will be closed for an undetermined amount of time.
The City of Milton Police Department, Rock County Sheriff’s Office, Milton Fire Department, and the Wisconsin State Patrol are still on scene investigating. The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has been notified and their officials are responding to the scene.
